Chorus Pro

Also called Chorus

Chorus Pro is the French state portal for submitting invoices to public sector buyers, mandatory for B2G since 2020. It predates the B2B reform and is frequently confused with it, because both involve sending invoices to a government system.

Scope
B2G, invoicing the French public sector
Mandatory since
2017 to 2020, phased by company size
Relationship to the 2026 reform
Separate obligation, unaffected
Formats
Includes Factur-X and structured XML

Different obligation, different scope

Chorus Pro is about who your customer is: if you invoice the French public sector, you submit through it. That has been true for years and is unaffected by the 2026 reform.

The B2B mandate is about business to business trade and routes through accredited platforms rather than Chorus Pro.

If you already invoice the public sector through Chorus Pro, that experience is useful and it does not mean you are ready for 2026. They are separate systems with separate obligations.

Why it matters

  • Teams that already use Chorus Pro often assume the B2B mandate is the same system extended, and plan accordingly.

Chorus Pro accepts Factur-X, so the same validation applies to what you submit there.

Common questions

Is Chorus Pro the same as the 2026 e-invoicing mandate?
No. Chorus Pro is for invoicing the French public sector and has been mandatory since 2020. The 2026 reform covers business to business invoicing and routes through accredited platforms instead.
